Louis Rosier ,5 November 1905 in Chapdes-Beaufort , 29 October 1956 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, was a racing driver from France.
He participated in 38 Formula One World Championship Grands Prix, debuting on 13 May 1950. He achieved 2 podiums, and scored a total of 18 championship points. He won the Dutch Grand Prix twice in consecutive years between 1950 and 1951, the Circuit d'Albi, Grand-Prix de l'Albigeois and the 24 Hours of Le Mans with his son Jean-Louis Rosier. Rosier owned the Renault dealership of Clermont-Ferrand

Chris Amon, il vincitore dell'edizione 1969 al volante della sua Ferrari Dino 246 alcuni minuti prima del via a Warwick Farm l'unica corsa che non avrebbe terminato.
Il Campionato era articolato su sette gare, Chris Amon vinse quattro volte, conquistò anche due terzi posti, due volte il giro più veloce e due "poles". Jochen Rindt fu il più tenace avversario, vinse due volte con cinque "poles" e quattro giri più veloci.
Lo scozzese Piers Courage vinse la settima gara e conquistò la terza posizione nel Campionato, solo un punto davanti a Derek Bell l'altro pilota ufficiale della Ferrari.

Questa strana macchina è il primo modello con motore diesel centrale ad aver corso la 24 Ore di Le Mans. E' una MAP (Manifacture d'Armes de Paris) che prese parte alla 24 Ore di Le Mans del 1950 ritirandosi dopo 39 giri per problemi al circuito di raffreddamento. Curiosamente al volante di questa strana vettura si presentò uno dei piloti più prestigiosi dell'epoca: Pierre Veyron, vincitore nel 1939 e ormai quarantasettenne.
